Job Purpose:
Our Housing Coordinators provide an enhanced, proactive housing management service to residents in our designated temporary homeless accommodation, and offer progression towards sustainable, appropriate move-on from the service.
Responsiblities:
- To understand and commit to our ambitions to deliver the highest standard of customer focused, peer led, psychologically informed service. Celebrate the diversity of our customers and be proactive and critical in our thinking and adapt a trauma informed approach to the needs of each individual and work to adapt our offer accordingly.
- Manage referrals to deliver suitable and timely allocations to the service and ensuring capacity and void targets are met by working closely with empty homes and lettings team
- Work with customers referral and sign up being especially considerate of diversity and inclusion and adapting our processes to meet the needs of the customer. Participate in customer induction, considering a person centred approach including offers from our range of adapted agreement and occupation information where required. (ie pictorial, translated, audio/braille etc)
- Provide information, advice and assistance to customers around income and benefits, assist with benefits claims at sign up and the regularly review for income maximisation. Act as the lead for the HB contact with LA and complete regular checks the HB portal. Work to support customers with UC claims, assist with PIP applications including appeals etc.
- Provide general housing related advice, guidance and support to customers to enable them to maintain their tenancy/licence agreement.
- By giving the customer choice and control, work to co-produce personal housing plans, settings clear goals taking into consideration housing options, and plan towards sustainable resettlement.
- Review move-on options with customers and manage referral in LA housing register where appropriate or alternative offers (PRS, Rent Deposit Scheme etc). Develop relationships with local landlords and charities to support customers to move-on and set up home.
