Job Description:
The Oregon Department of Corrections is currently recruiting for an Operations & Policy Analyst 2 – Business Operations Analyst. This position is located in Salem, Oregon and is approved for hybrid telework. The intention of this recruitment is to fill the vacancy with a fully qualified OPA-2 candidate, however, an underfill (OPA-1) candidate may be considered based on experience.
What will I be doing?
This position supports core business management and process improvement efforts for the Business Operations Unit in service to the Health Services Division and its Division administrators. The position utilizes project management and other tools to execute and coordinate activities in multiple administrative programs and operations including performance measurement. This position participates in the development, implementation and maintenance of policies, procedures and administrative rules. This position plays a critical role in coordinating responses and generating content for the Legislative Branch during legislative sessions as well as in the interim.
What are the Minimum Qualifications?
- A Bachelor »s Degree in Business or Public Administration, Behavioral or Social Sciences, Finance, Political Science or any degree demonstrating the capacity for the knowledge and skills; and two years professional-level evaluative, analytical and planning work. OR;
- Any combination of experience and education equivalent to five (5) years of experience that typically supports the knowledge and skills for the classification
OPA-1 Minimum Qualifications
- A Bachelor »s Degree in Business or Public Administration, Behavioral or Social Sciences, Finance, Political Science or any degree demonstrating the capacity for the knowledge and skills; OR
- Any combination of experience or education equivalent to three (3) years technical-level experience that typically supports the knowledge and skill requirements listed for the classification.

- Experience drafting rules/policies/procedures, etc.
- Experience with technical report writing
- Excellent communication skills (including verbal and written)
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work independently

- Ability to establish and meet deadlines independently

Requirements for Employment
Successful candidates for this position must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) computer and fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility. Due to CJIS requirements related to system access, the following convictions are likely to result in being disqualified for this position: felony convictions, computer theft, identify theft and fraud. CJIS clearance is done at the conditional job offer.
